Join the NAMI Scott County Affiliate Board

Help build a more supportive, informed, and inclusive mental health community.

We are currently restarting the NAMI Scott County Affiliate and are seeking founding board members to help guide our development and growth. All board roles are open, and we invite anyone passionate about mental health advocacy, education, and support to apply.

Board Details

Board roles are for one-year terms, per NAMI Minnesota Bylaws , and will be elected as soon as we reach five official members in good standing.

Open Board Positions (From Bylaws)

  • President
    Chairs meetings, oversees affiliate operations, and liaises with NAMI Minnesota
  • Vice President
    Supports the President, fills in during absences, and assists with affiliate projects
  • Secretary
    Keeps meeting minutes, manages records, and oversees correspondence
  • Treasurer
    Tracks donations, event spending, and helps with financial planning
  • General Board Members
    Help lead efforts in areas such as:
    • Advocacy
    • Community Outreach
    • Fundraising & Sponsorships
    • Support Group Development
    • Education & Events

We strongly encourage applications from individuals with lived experience, family members, and those who represent the diverse communities of Scott County.
People who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) are especially encouraged to apply.

Board Member Responsibilities

  • Attend regular monthly affiliate meetings (Virtual)
  • Support NAMI’s mission through community engagement
  • Grow programs, outreach, and support systems locally
  • Participate in tabling events, planning, and collaboration with NAMI Minnesota

Membership Options

  • Individual Membership – $40/year
  • Household Membership – $60/year
  • Open Door Membership – $5/year (for individuals with limited income)
